Wayanad:As part of World Environment Day celebrations, the Sunni Yuvajana Sangham (SYS) Kalpetta Zone launched an environmental awareness campaign under the theme “Our Earth, Our Responsibility.” The campaign was inaugurated at the Government-run old age home under the Department of Social Welfare in Kaniyambetta.
The event was officially inaugurated by Junaid Kaippani, Chairman of the Wayanad District Panchayat Welfare Standing Committee. The ceremony was presided over by Zone President U.P. Anas Saqafi.
Notable attendees included Kaniyambetta Panchayat Member Latheef Memadan, Superintendent of the institution Rajith Karayi, Dr. Amritha Rajeev, Rashid Keedakkadan, Nisar M., and Yusuf P.. Zone General Secretary Jaseel U.K. welcomed the gathering, while Noufal Falili delivered the vote of thanks.
As part of the campaign, fruit tree saplings were planted in and around the premises of the institution. The key objective of the initiative is to raise public awareness about environmental responsibility and to instill a deeper commitment to nature conservation in society.
In his inaugural address, Junaid Kaippani emphasized the crucial role of youth in environmental protection. He stated that true change can only be achieved when individuals understand their responsibility towards nature and act upon it through practical steps.
