Sultan Bathery: Junaid Kaippani, who is a prominent figure in the social, cultural, political, charitable, and administrative fields and is also the chairman of the Wayanad District Panchayat Welfare Standing Committee, received the “Purosthira Award” for the most popular public representative. The award consists of a cash prize of ten thousand rupees and a certificate of appreciation. The award was presented by writer, linguist, and social observer M.N. Karassery and I.C. Balakrishnan MLA during a function held at the Sultan Bathery Municipal Hall. Advocate Thankachan, president of the Purosthira Foundation, delivered the introductory speech.
Advocate Thankachan stated that the purpose of the award is to honor public representatives who demonstrate quality administration and a sense of justice.
Junaid Kaippani is a popular public representative who has garnered attention in the public sphere through numerous exemplary activities. He holds district, state, and national positions in various social, cultural, educational, and charitable organizations.
He has authored seven books on various subjects. His book, ‘Decentralized Planning: Thought and Practice,’ which shares observations and experiences from a fundamental and comprehensive study at the grassroots level on how much the concepts of decentralization of power and development put forth by the three-tier system are achieving their goals, is a notable contribution to the intellectual field. String Publications has published an English translation of the book titled ‘Decentralized Planning – Thought and Practice.’ Other important books by him include ‘Rappartha Nagarangal’ (The Cities that Stayed the Night), ‘Personality Development,’ and ‘Public Speaking: 501 Principles.’
