The 15th season of IPL begins today. The inaugural match between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders will be played at Mumbai Wankhede Stadium at 7.30 pm.
This time IPL matches are in front of 25% of the spectators. Four venues in Mumbai and Pune will host the IPL. The two-month carnival concludes on May 29
Ten teams will compete this season. The newcomers are Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants.
There are a total of 74 matches this season. It is also noteworthy that five new captains are leading the teams
Ravindra Jadeja will replace Dhoni in Chennai. Lucknow will be led by KL Rahul and Gujarat by Hardik Pandya. Shreyas Iyer will captain Kolkata, while Mayank Agarwal will replace Punjab and Virat Kohli will be replaced by Faf Duplessis in Bangalore.
Delhi will be led by Rishabh Pant, Mumbai by Rohit Sharma, Hyderabad’s Kane Williamson and Rajasthan’s Sanju Samson. The matches will be played in two groups.
