e-Pan Card
E pan card is relevant to original or physical PAN Card.E PAN card is a digitally authenticated PAN Card implemented in e-format by Income Tax Department using Aadhar e-KYC. E-PAN service is applicable for specific PAN applicants who have been issued an Aadhar Number by UIDAI and are required to file a PAN request through Form 49A. As it is mentioned that it is relevant to physical PAN it allows taxpayers to easily carry out numerous financial transaction and it also helps to the Income Tax Department to track such transaction. According to the Income Tax Department, the e-PAN service is only applicable to those applicants whose new PAN Card request has been submitted to proceed via NSDL, UTIITSL or Income Tax Department’s e-filling website. E-PAN is only available to Indian Citizens and no NRI’s can are applicable for the same.
e-Pan Card Details
e-PAN card contains the applicant’s details like photograph, signature, PAN Number, father’s name, date of birth. It also contains the QR Code which contains biometric information of the PAN Cardholder. The QR Code is used for verification purpose by the QR Reader device. After the complete download process of e-PAN, PAN holder can get their e-PAN in their registered Email ID mentioned in the form while applying for PAN Card.
Who are eligible to apply for e-PAN Card
- Resident type must be an Indian.
- Applicant must have an updated Aadhar
- Correct mobile number of the applicant which have been linked to Aadhar
- Applicant must be an individual taxpayer.

It is now very easy to get a PAN card immediately without submitting a detailed application form and if you have Aadhaar, without submitting any other documents.
1) Visit www.incometax.gov.in/iec/foportal website
2) Select ‘Instant E-PAN’
3) Select ‘Get New E-PAN’ Link
4) Type the Aadhaar number in use (It should not have been previously linked to another pan)
5) Enter the OTP coming to the mobile connected to Aadhaar
6) Make sure the Aadhaar information is correct
