Neighboring youths committed suicide in two places on the same day. The deceased have been identified as Abhinand (27) and Vijeesh (34) of Nanmanda. Abhinand was found dead in the kitchen of the family home and Vijeesh was found dead in the woodshed near the house.
Abhinand came home from the festival site of the temple near his house. He is an employee of Wayanad Agricultural Development and Welfare Department. Vijeesh was an auto driver. Vijeesh also returned home from Kodungallur temple on Sunday night.
Balussery police reached the spot and conducted an inquest.
