The proposed electricity Bill 2020 will be a setback to the consumers since private players will monopolize distribution of electricity. The founding fathers of our constitution had delegated the responsibility of maintaining this service sector to Union and state governments, but these days the government is thinking to hand over it to private companies. The concept of a welfare state is
drastically on the decline. As Aijas Ahmed wrote, the negation of the state means the affirmation of the market. Market is exclusive, it excludes the dispossessed.
